Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | Varied shift start times (7, 10, 11, 12, 1, 3) | Modified self-scheduling | 4 weekend shifts per 4-week block

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emergency nursing care in a high-volume Emergency Department treating approximately 200 patients per day across a 52-bed unit with 4 trauma bays and 6 fast track beds
  • Independently read and interpret telemetry in addition to support from monitor technicians
  • Administer and manage ICU-level drips for hold patients as needed, coordinating with ICU staff when available
  • Accompany critical patients during transport to dedicated in-unit CT and X-ray
  • Perform or oversee lab draws via IV starts in the absence of phlebotomy services, in coordination with ED technicians
  • Float on a pre-scheduled basis to a freestanding ER location approximately 15 minutes away
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license with a minimum of two years of Emergency Room experience, including Trauma Level I or Level II experience accumulated within the past two years
  • Epic EMR proficiency required; must have used Epic within the last five years
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Must comply with local radius restrictions applicable to travel assignments
  • No more than 5 days of requested time off; no blocked scheduling requests
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification preferred
  • Experience working in a STEMI and Stroke receiving facility
  • Familiarity with Glidescope, Hamilton, and Phillips ventilators
