Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emergency nursing care in a high-volume Emergency Department seeing approximately 200 patients per day across a 52-bed department with 4 trauma bays and 6 fast track beds.
  • Manage patient ratios of 1:5 for medical patients and 1:6 for fast track, including care for STEMI and stroke receiving patients.
  • Independently read and interpret telemetry in addition to support from monitor technicians.
  • Administer and monitor ICU-level drips for hold patients, coordinating with ICU staff as needed.
  • Accompany critical patients during transport to dedicated in-department CT and X-ray.
  • Float on an as-scheduled basis to a freestanding ER location approximately 15 minutes away.
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN licensure.
  • Minimum of two years of Emergency Room experience, with Trauma Level I or Level II experience (cumulative) within the past two years — Level III, Critical Access Hospital, or lower experience does not meet this requirement.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required.
  • Proficiency with Epic EMR, used within the last five years.
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule including varied shift start times and a minimum of 4 weekend shifts per 4-week block.
  • Must reside outside of the applicable radius restriction zone.
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification preferred.
  • Experience with Glidescope, Hamilton, and Phillips ventilators.
  • Familiarity with ICU-level drip management in an emergency department setting.
