Job Title

Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Location

Wausau, WI

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 Weeks) | 36 Hours Per Week | 12-Hour Variable Rotating Shifts | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced, Trauma Level II Emergency Department serving a diverse patient population including cardiac, stroke, neuro, pediatric, geriatric, and respiratory cases
  • Manage a patient assignment of 3–4 patients per shift within an 18-bed unit
  • Perform lab draws, administer nebulizer treatments, and document care using Epic electronic health records
  • Utilize Pyxis medication dispensing system for safe medication administration
  • Participate in on-call and call-back rotations, including every other weekend and every other holiday
  • Float to other emergency department locations in the region as needed
Required Qualifications
  • Active Wisconsin RN License
  • Current BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and PALS certifications (ARC or AHA accepted)
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience
  • Minimum 3–6 months of prior travel nursing experience (firm requirement)
  • Trauma Level II experience required
  • Proficiency with Epic electronic charting (required)
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience working in a stroke-certified emergency department environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage change, and complete tasks efficiently in a high-volume setting
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to integrate quickly into an established team
