Travel RN – Emergency Department (Nights)

Schedule / Job TypeContract | 13-Week Assignment | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 or 48 Guaranteed Hours Per Week | Onsite
Key Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process to perform direct patient care activities for all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort
- Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and maintain professional accountability
- Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality
- Function within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with established guidelines of nursing practice and the Missouri Nurse Practice Act
- Perform physical duties including standing and walking for the majority of the shift, lifting and pushing patients on stretchers and in wheelchairs, and pushing, pulling, and gripping up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications- Current RN license; must meet criteria for eligibility for licensure in the state of Missouri or currently licensed in Missouri
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department experience in a Level 1 Trauma facility, or minimum 2 years in a Level 2 Trauma facility; experience level must be indicated on resume
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
- TNCC certification required
- NIHSS certification required prior to start date (candidates may be submitted without but must obtain before starting)
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience in trauma and/or pediatric emergency care
- High-acuity emergency department experience in a facility treating 200+ patients per day
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR
- Determined, decisive, and flexible personality well-suited to a busy urban trauma environment
