Job Title

Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Location

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | Every Other Weekend Required | Holiday coverage required in November/December

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department seeing approximately 170–200 patients per day across a 56-bed department with additional hall bed capacity
  • Manage a patient assignment of 1:3 ratio (1:4 for low acuity), including care of ED holds in a designated 18-bed holding area within the department
  • Assess and treat a broad range of diagnoses including cardiac, stroke, sepsis, DKA, altered mental status, respiratory distress, abdominal pain, and mental health presentations
  • Utilize Epic EMR for all documentation, order management, and patient communication
  • Perform or coordinate nurse and ED Tech blood draws, EKG interpretation, and collaborate with Respiratory Therapy for management of vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and ABGs
  • Work within a structured team environment including ED physicians, mid-level providers, charge nurses, house supervisors, ED Techs, and monitor technicians
Required Qualifications
  • Active Washington State RN license or valid Compact RN license
  • Minimum 1 year of Emergency Room experience in a larger trauma setting
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • TNCC required
  • PALS or ENPC required
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience working in a trauma center environment with high daily patient volumes
  • Familiarity with Epic EMR
  • Experience with triage processes and fast track environments
  • Comfort working with psychiatric patient populations in a secured treatment setting
