Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-volume, Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department serving patients ranging from newborns to elderly across a wide spectrum of acuity levels
- Manage and titrate a variety of critical drips including vasopressors, cardiac drips, and antihypertensive medications
- Recognize and respond to life-threatening cardiac rhythms using Phillips monitoring equipment; interpret and act on telemetry independently
- Collaborate with ED physicians, mid-level providers, charge nurses, respiratory therapists, and ED techs to deliver coordinated patient care
- Draw and collect lab specimens as required; support care of boarder patients and coordinate with ancillary departments
- Care for stabilized trauma patients transferred from the trauma bay to a pod setting, as directed by the specialized trauma team
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Current ENPC or PALS certification
- Current TNCC or TNS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 prior travel assignment
- Proficiency with vasopressor and cardiac drip titration and management of critically ill patients
Preferred Experience / Skills
- SANE RN experience
- Prior experience working in a teaching hospital environment with resident physicians
- Familiarity with Phillips telemetry monitoring systems
