Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in an 11-bed Emergency Room at a Critical Access Hospital and Level III verified trauma center
- Perform triage in a dedicated triage room as expected for all nursing staff, including travelers
- Manage ER holds within the general Emergency Department, as no separate holding area is available
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry strips independently, as no monitor technicians are on unit
- Collaborate with a single on-site physician and house supervisor to coordinate patient care across a varied patient population of all ages
- Perform IV placement and blood draws when initiating IV access, in coordination with phlebotomy services
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room experience within the last 3 years
- Active TNCC, ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR
- Ability to read and interpret cardiac monitor strips independently
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a Critical Access or rural hospital setting
- Familiarity with respiratory equipment including ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and Airvo
- ICU experience or comfort floating to an ICU setting
