Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Schedule / Job TypeContract | Rotating Shifts (7-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts available) | Onsite | Every other weekend required
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in a Level IV Trauma Emergency Department managing 40–60 patients per day across a 14-bed unit with 2 trauma bays
- Triage patients in designated triage rooms following department policies and procedures after completing required orientation review
- Manage a patient assignment with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3–4, caring for variable diagnoses including traumas, MVAs, strokes, and STEMIs
- Administer and monitor variable IV drips and collaborate with ED physicians and mid-level providers available 24/7
- Utilize Fast Track area (3 designated rooms) and coordinate patient holds within the department or attached overflow unit as needed
- Float to inpatient areas as needed to assist with staffing coverage
Required Qualifications- Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license – must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience
- Current ACLS certification
- Current BLS certification
- Current PALS certification
- Current TNCC certification
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience with triage in a high-volume emergency department setting
- Familiarity with central cardiac monitoring stations and ability to independently read telemetry strips
- Comfort working in a rural emergency department environment with variable patient populations
