    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Float)

    Location

    Colorado Springs, CO (Zone-based float covering up to 60-mile radius)

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Full-Time | Night Shift | Onsite | 12-Hour Shifts | Every other weekend and holiday required

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in Emergency Room/Emergency Department settings across multiple facilities within an assigned regional zone covering a 60-mile radius
    • Manage a patient assignment based on acuity with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–1:5
    • Perform point-of-care lab testing as trained; interpret and read telemetry strips independently (no monitor tech on unit)
    • Care for patients presenting with common ED diagnoses including abdominal pain, diabetes, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and hypertension
    • Administer standard emergency medications and drips; collaborate with charge nurses, techs, and respiratory therapy available 24/7
    • Float between facilities within the assigned zone based on scheduling needs, which may be communicated 1–2 hours before shift start on Just-In-Time shifts
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Colorado
    • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience required
    • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required
    • Ability and willingness to float throughout the full 60-mile regional zone regardless of personal housing location
    • Must be present in-state during the week of orientation, even if initial modules are completed remotely
    • Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry strips
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience working in trauma-level facilities (Level III or Level IV) or STEMI/Stroke receiving centers
    • Comfort working in varied ED environments including fast track, mixed holds, and multi-acuity settings treating 40–168 patients per day
    • Familiarity with point-of-care lab testing in an emergency setting
