Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Director of Emergency Services to lead and oversee operations within a high-acuity Emergency Department. This leadership role is responsible for directing clinical, administrative, financial, and operational functions to ensure high-quality, safe, and efficient patient care delivery.

The RN Director will collaborate with hospital leadership, medical staff, and interdisciplinary teams to drive strategic goals, improve patient outcomes, and ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.


Key Responsibilities

Provide leadership and direction for Emergency Department operations
Oversee staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation
Ensure compliance with JCAHO, state nursing boards, and regulatory standards
Lead quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Support staff development, coaching, and performance management
Collaborate with physicians and hospital leadership on strategic planning
Monitor departmental performance metrics and operational efficiency
Implement policies and procedures to improve patient care delivery


Requirements

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required (multi-state/compact preferred)
Master s degree in Nursing or Business Administration (or in progress)
3 5+ years acute care experience, including emergency department experience
Minimum 2 years leadership/management experience required
Strong financial, operational, and clinical leadership skills
Current BLS certification (AHA) required
CPI certification required
Strong communication and executive leadership abilities
