Job Title
Registered Nurse – Emergency Room
LocationDurango, CO
Schedule / Job TypeContract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite | Every other weekend and holiday required
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in a Level 3 Trauma Emergency Department treating an average of 63 patients per day
- Manage a patient assignment of 1:4–5 based on acuity, including holds intermixed within the ER
- Independently read and interpret telemetry monitoring strips without the support of a monitor technician
- Administer standard emergency medications and drips in accordance with physician orders and clinical protocols
- Perform and document Point of Care lab testing as trained
- Collaborate with support staff including techs who assist with unit secretary duties, floor support, and triage
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Colorado
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC
- Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry
- Must be available to float throughout the assigned zone, which covers a 60-mile radius from the zone's city center; housing must be obtained to make this feasible
- Must be physically present in state for the full week of orientation, even if initial modules are completed remotely
Preferred Experience / Skills- Experience with common ED diagnoses including abdominal pain, diabetes, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and hypertension
- Familiarity with STEMI receiving and stroke center workflows
