Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-volume emergency department setting serving all patient types including adults
- Manage and monitor complex drips including sedation, vasoactive agents, vasopressors, heparin, insulin, pain control, and antiarrhythmics
- Read and interpret telemetry strips and respond appropriately to cardiac rhythm changes
- Maintain a patient ratio of 4:1 within a 36-bed emergency department
- Float across multiple campuses as assigned
- Document all patient care accurately using the EPIC electronic medical records system
Required Qualifications
- Active Iowa RN license or active Compact/Multistate RN license at time of submission
- Minimum 15 months of emergency medicine experience; work history must reflect at least 36 months of Emergency Department experience
- Recent Level I trauma experience
- Current and recent travel nursing experience
- Active TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification — documentation required
- Active BLS certification (AHA or ARC), ACLS certification (AHA), and PALS certification (AHA) required
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR
- Valid Driver's License — documentation required
- Skills checklist specific to Emergency Department/Emergency Room discipline required at time of submission
Preferred Experience / Skills
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification preferred; may be obtained during onboarding
- Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
