Key Responsibilities- Apply the nursing process to the care of patients within the RN scope of practice as defined by the Oregon State Board of Nursing
- Educate patients and significant others regarding care, treatment, and health management
- Accurately document patient care in the electronic medical record system
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate overall patient care
- Respond effectively to patient crisis and emergency situations
- Prioritize and adapt to rapidly changing patient and unit needs
Required Qualifications- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Oregon
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Recent emergency nursing experience
- Recent acute care hospital experience within the past 5 years
- Proficiency with electronic medical record systems and general computer use
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Experience / Skills- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurses' Association Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification, or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire
- Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) certification, or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire
- National certification in emergency nursing (CEN or equivalent)
