Job Title

Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Contract | 12-Hour Rotating Shifts (Days and Nights) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in an 18-bed Emergency Department, including 4 critical rooms designated for trauma and codes, serving an average of 70 patients per day
  • Manage a patient assignment of 1:3–4 depending on acuity, including care for ER holds intermixed within the department
  • Administer and monitor common ER drips including pressors and sedation; troubleshoot respiratory equipment ranging from nasal cannula to ventilators
  • Perform and independently read and interpret cardiac monitor strips; perform EKGs as required
  • Care for a diverse patient population including pediatric, cardiac, STEMI, stroke, trauma, and general emergency presentations
  • Staff triage and fast track areas as needed; support psych patient screening process in coordination with designated personnel
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN licensure in good standing
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
  • Must successfully pass the Advanced Dysrhythmia exam at 83% or higher prior to contract start (up to three attempts permitted)
  • Ability to work every other weekend and participate in holiday rotation with permanent staff
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience working in a STEMI and Stroke Receiving facility or Level III Trauma Center
  • Familiarity with pediatric emergency presentations and common ER drip management
  • Comfort with independent cardiac rhythm interpretation in an environment without monitor technicians
