Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a 34-bed Emergency Room setting with a mixed patient population
  • Manage patient assignments at a 4:1 nurse-to-patient ratio, ensuring safe and effective care delivery
  • Administer and titrate IV drips and medications in accordance with clinical protocols
  • Utilize the EPIC electronic medical records system for accurate and timely documentation
  • Float to a freestanding emergency department campus as needed
  • Participate in holiday coverage as required by unit scheduling needs
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 24 months of Emergency Room nursing experience
  • Must have completed a travel nursing contract within the previous 18 months
  • Active Iowa RN license or active Compact/Multistate RN license at time of submission
  • Active BLS certification through AHA or American Red Cross
  • Active ACLS certification through AHA
  • Active PALS certification through AHA
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Competency) certification
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (may be obtained during onboarding)
  • EPIC EMR experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Active de-escalation certification such as CPI, MAB, MOAB, or SAMA (willingness to obtain during onboarding is acceptable)
  • Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification active and in-hand prior to start
