Job Title

Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Location

Beaver Dam, WI

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Nights | Onsite | Every third weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) required | Every other holiday required

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emergency nursing care within a 19-bed ED/Urgent Care unit serving patients with diagnoses including STEMI, trauma, stroke, COPD, CHF, and sepsis
  • Interpret cardiac strips independently, as no monitor techs are present on the unit
  • Titrate drips including Propofol, Cardizem, and insulin
  • Fulfill Charge Nurse duties as assigned, which may include taking patient assignments
  • Complete clock-in and clock-out procedures at the facility each shift
  • Participate in one day of house-wide training and one to two days of department orientation upon assignment start
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum of 3 years of Emergency Room nursing experience
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret cardiac strips
  • Demonstrated ability to titrate drips (Propofol, Cardizem, insulin)
  • Current ACLS certification required
  • Current PALS certification required
  • Current BLS certification required
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Prior Charge Nurse experience in an emergency room setting
  • Willingness to train toward a House Supervisor role
