Job Title

Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (Contract / Travel)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13-Week Travel Assignment) | Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Rotating Weekends | No On-Call Required

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department with 48 private rooms, 27 hallway stretchers, 9 fast track bays, and 5 behavioral health rooms
  • Maintain patient ratios of 1:4 in the ED, 1:5 in behavioral health, and 1:3 for cardiac/trauma patients
  • Perform and assist with procedures including splinting, EKGs, central line management, airway support, trauma assists, rapid infusion, and resuscitation
  • Operate unit equipment including Alaris pumps, Belmont and Level 1 Rapid Infusers, and Stryker stretchers
  • Support behavioral health de-escalation and utilize CPI techniques as needed
  • Document and manage patient care using the MEDITECH electronic medical records system
Required Qualifications
  • Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Texas
  • Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Room nursing experience
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) certification
  • Current TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification and NIHSS certification
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Prior experience with MEDITECH EMR
  • Trauma experience in an acute care emergency setting
  • Holding or inpatient experience
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training
