Travel RN – ED Flow Navigator | Emergency Department
LocationAsheville, NC
Schedule / Job TypeContract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Night Shift | 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities- Serve as an ED Flow Navigator within a high-volume emergency department, facilitating patient throughput and care coordination across all sections of the ED
- Maintain patient ratios of approximately 4:1 for medical patients, with flexibility up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds
- Utilize Cerner for clinical documentation and GE monitors and Baxter pumps for patient care
- Uphold patient experience standards including AIDET communication, updated patient boards, and respectful patient interactions throughout each visit
- Coach and provide real-time feedback to staff; demonstrate flexibility to work in all areas of the ED including triage, cardiac monitoring unit, and internal processing areas
- Adhere to department scheduling requirements; floating is limited to sections within the ED only
Required Qualifications- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of experience in an emergency room setting
- Experience in a Level II Trauma Center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ annual visits)
- Active RN licensure
- ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS certifications required prior to start date
- ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
- Strong teamwork mentality with demonstrated ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
Preferred Experience / Skills- Previous experience within an HCA-affiliated facility
- Familiarity with Cerner electronic health records system
- Experience working in a culturally diverse, high-acuity emergency department environment
