Travel RN – Emergency Room

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department with a 101-bed unit and patient ratios of 4:1 (medical) and up to 7:1 for behavioral holds
  • Utilize Cerner for all clinical documentation and maintain accurate, up-to-date patient information on boards throughout each visit
  • Operate Baxter pumps and GE monitors in accordance with unit protocols
  • Deliver patient experience standards including AIDET communication, respectful behavior, and consistent patient updates throughout the visit
  • Float to all sections within the Emergency Department as needed to meet departmental staffing requirements
  • Collaborate with techs, cardiac monitoring unit staff, triage personnel, and unit clerks across day and night operations
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of experience in an Emergency Room setting
  • Experience in a Level II Trauma Center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ visits annually)
  • Active RN licensure and all of the following certifications required prior to start date: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS
  • ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
  • Strong teamwork mentality with the ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
  • Flexibility to work in all areas of the Emergency Department and adapt to scheduling needs of the department
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Previous experience within an HCA-affiliated facility
  • Familiarity with Cerner electronic health records system
  • Experience serving diverse, multicultural patient populations
