Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | 36 or 48 hours per week available | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department, with a significant portion of the patient population consisting of admitted and ED holding patients
  • Administer medications, including IV medications, following the seven medication rights
  • Document and communicate clinical findings accurately and in a timely manner
  • Manage a patient ratio of 1:5 in the Emergency Department setting
  • Float to Adult PCUs based on staffing needs; optional floating to Pediatric ED, ED Holding, and Trauma as applicable and within scope
  • Work weekends as scheduled, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license or pending licensure in New Mexico (pending license accepted at time of submission)
  • Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience (1.5 years may be considered on a case-by-case basis)
  • Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications — TNCC must be obtained prior to submission; NIH may pend until compliance document due date
  • Proficiency with Cerner electronic health records
  • Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (no local candidates accepted)
  • RQI certifications are not accepted in place of required certifications
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Prior travel nursing experience strongly preferred; first-time travelers with 2+ years of Level I Trauma experience may be considered
  • Level I Trauma center experience preferred
  • Experience managing admitted and ED holding patients in a high-acuity environment
