Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a high-volume emergency department seeing approximately 180–200 visits per day, serving patients ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics
  • Manage a patient ratio of 1:4, performing independent lab draws and IV starts
  • Care for a diverse case mix including trauma, CVA, orthopedic, and neurological presentations; facility serves as a CVA center
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including ED physicians, NPs/PAs, paramedics, nurse aides, respiratory therapists, and pharmacy staff
  • Support patients requiring ventilator management in the ED until admission, working alongside 24/7 dedicated respiratory therapy staff
  • Adhere to department protocols including every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday requirements, Caribbean Blue scrub dress code, and auto lunch deduction policy
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license in good standing
  • Minimum 5 years of emergency room nursing experience
  • At least one prior travel nursing assignment
  • Proficiency with Meditech EMR (version 6.15)
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ACLS or NIHSS, and CPI
  • Ability to complete department-specific orientation within the first week of assignment
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience working in a high-acuity emergency department with trauma, stroke, and behavioral health patient populations
  • Familiarity with behavioral health protocols, including care within a locked psychiatric/seclusion unit environment
  • Prior charge nurse experience in an emergency department setting
