Perform medical procedures such as EKG, venipuncture, cardiac monitoring, taking vital signs, urinalysis, or administering mediations. Develop and maintain patient care plans in collaboration with other staff. Administer treatment and medication as warranted by the patient’s condition or upon order of the provider. Triage patients and determine priority of care based on injury or illness. Evaluate patient’s condition and response to treatment based on observation, assessment, and analysis of data such as lab and EMT reports. Perform necessary medical procedures needed to alleviate the patient’s condition such as starting an IV, administering correct medications, blood transfusions, basic first aid, intubation, CPR, and setting of broken bones. Diagnose and develop treatment plans in collaboration with providers and other staff. Provide patients with clear aftercare instructions in preparation for discharge. Clean wounds, manage bleeding, set initial fractures, and remove foreign bodies, as necessary.
