The unit is a Level 1 Trauma Center and Stroke Center. High patient ratios: typically 1:5-6, potentially up to 8 depending on patient volume. Traveler must have the requisite certifications. Modules must be completed before starting work. Patient demographics include adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Daily census averages around 250 visits. Staffing ratios may vary by shift; Days 1:4-6, Nights 1:4-7. Education requirements include proof of high school level education. The department has advanced nursing guidelines to expedite patient care. Special procedures may include care for major trauma, neuro, cardiac, pediatrics, and high-risk obstetrics. Interdisciplinary support includes various specialized teams to assist in patient care.
