Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2-3 years of ER experience required for first-time travelers. License: Must have a valid nursing license prior to start date. Temporary licenses may be obtainable once permanent license applications have been submitted. Certifications: - ACLS - BLS - NIHSS - PALS - TNCC Must-Have: Candidates must have experience in care of ventilated patients and management of dysrhythmias. Candidates must be able to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed. Candidates must work 2 out of 3 major holidays. Description: This position is for a registered nurse specializing in the emergency room. The nurse will work night shifts consisting of 12 hours each. The emergency department typically sees a daily census of 150 patients. The unit accommodates a diverse patient population, including neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. Candidates are expected to participate in weekend shifts every other weekend. Previous charge experience is preferred, and candidates should be familiar with charting systems. Patient ratios are typically 4 patients per nurse during all shifts. Interdisciplinary support will be available from various services including respiratory, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. Travelers should have experience working in trauma centers. Floating is a requirement for all travelers. This role demands a strong understanding of emergency care protocols and practices.
