Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC preferred Must-Have: Candidates must have 2 years of experience in specialty. Travel experience is preferred. Experience in a high-volume and high-acuity Emergency Room is required. Experience with level II trauma is preferred. Description: Telemetry, Labor and Delivery, Emergency, and Critical Care RNs will take a proctored Dysrhythmia Test onsite, day one. This is a PASS/FAIL test. Holiday requests off will be considered but are not guaranteed. The unit has 28 beds, 4 fast track, 2 trauma bays, and hallway beds. The nurse to patient ratio is 1 to 4. Charting is done in a specified electronic medical record system. Charge nurses do not take patient assignments. Nurse aides are available on each shift to assist with technical duties. Weekend requirements include working every other weekend. Holiday assignments will work into the permanent staff rotation. Scrub color is navy. Trauma patients may be assigned to travelers depending on their experience. There is a focus on teamwork in the unit, and leadership in this area is desired. Shifts are 12 hours, with varied start times. Self-scheduling is done by seniority. Floor-specific orientation will last 2-3 shifts. Common diagnoses and types of patients include trauma, stroke, pediatrics, and psych patients. Candidates can expect to handle approximately 155 patients per day. Call is required one day per month, with some months involving additional days. Pharmacy and respiratory therapy are available 24/7. Cancellations are possible for up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment. Candidates must present required certifications including COVID vaccination.
