Job Title: Registered Nurse – Emergency Room Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 18 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in Emergency Room License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS ACLS PALS NIHSS Must-Have: 2 years of Emergency Room experience is required No first-time travelers accepted Experience in pediatrics is necessary Ability to float to Pediatric Emergency Room Description: Candidates must have experience with both pediatrics and adults, as roughly 50% of the patient population is pediatric. Emergency Room has 36 treatment areas, along with a pediatric area that includes 12 treatment areas and 8 fast track pods. Travelers will be required to float to the Pediatric Emergency Room. All candidates must have some experience in triage. The facility sees approximately 325 visits per day between both Emergency Rooms. Common patient diagnoses range from minor walk-ins to critically ill patients, including respiratory failure, asthma, abdominal pain, fractures, and substance abuse. The Emergency Room is also a receiving center for various critical conditions, such as STEMI and CVA. Nurses should be familiar with the charting system and be able to perform tasks related to advanced respiratory support equipment. Travelers are expected to work weekends and holidays based on scheduling needs, with no block scheduling available. The facility operates with in-house security and has a designated staff for pediatric emergencies. Successful candidates will be flexible with scheduling and may be placed on standby for low census but are not required to take call. The dress code for nurses is navy blue scrubs, and hoodies or sweatshirts are not permitted.
