Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 3 years preferred License: Compact License accepted Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: Previous charge experience required Charting experience required Trauma Level I or II experience preferred Patient ratio experience of 4 Description: This position is for an Emergency Room Registered Nurse working night shifts. Preference will be given to candidates with three years of experience in an emergency setting. First-time travelers are accepted. The nurse will be expected to work every other weekend. Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS are required. Skills required include management of arterial lines, BiPAP/CPAP management, and blood product administration. Experience in care of ventilated patients and IV vasopressor administration is essential. Nurses will also need to demonstrate proficiency in phlebotomy and procedural sedation administration. The emergency room serves patients across all age groups, including neonates, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The daily census is approximately 45 patients with an average of 45 visits per day. Candidates should be prepared to float to similar units as needed. Orientation will provide necessary training on protocols and procedures within the unit. Travelers are expected to undergo brief orientation on the unit. Completion of modules is required during the initial phase of the contract.
