The role involves working night shifts for 12 hours on a 4x12 schedule. The nurse will be responsible for assessing and managing patients with various acute conditions. Experience in handling emergencies such as drug overdoses, respiratory infections, and mental health crises is required. The nurse must be skilled in intubation, central line management, and chest tube care. Candidates should be prepared to float to similar units as needed based on facility requirements. Only travelers with prior experience in the emergency room and the necessary certifications will be considered. Local candidates living within a 50-mile radius are not accepted. The daily patient census averages around 100 visits, utilizing a 22-bed capacity. An interdisciplinary approach will be employed, working with various support services such as respiratory therapy and social services. The facility operates as a trauma center and expects the nurse to handle a diverse range of patient diagnoses efficiently. Additional responsibilities include managing medications, interpreting diagnostic tests, and participating in rapid response situations. Candidates should be ready for a dynamic work environment with a focus on high-quality patient care.
