Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse, Intensive Care / Coronary Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Nurse, Intensive Care / Coronary Nurse (ICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 3 years License: Current RN Licensure Certifications: - HCP (Healthcare Provider) Level of BLS (Basic Life Support) within 30 days of hire. - ACLS (AHA Advanced Life Support) certification required within 6 months of hire. - PALS (AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required within 12 months of hire. - TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification required within 12 months of hire. - Moderate sedation training required within 12 months of hire. Must-Have: - Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. - Experience as an acute care registered nurse preferred. Description: This position is responsible for functioning as both a caregiver and care manager. In the caregiver role, the RN assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame implementing the Nursing Process. In the role of care manager, the RN directs and oversees the work of other caregivers via delegation, coordination, supervision, and validation/evaluation of patient care outcomes. The individual in this position will be required to understand the purpose and operation of Patient Care Services. They must have the ability to make decisions based on sound judgment when a situation dictates. Essential functions include: 1. Performing assessment/data collection, focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, and cognitive status. 2. Implementing care in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent, and continuous manner adhering to predetermined procedures, policies, and care plans. 3. Identifying patient/significant other learning needs and readiness for learning, and implementing patient teaching as defined by policy and care plans. 4. Documenting in the patient’s chart per policy and regulatory requirements. 5. Demonstrating awareness of and sensitivity to patient/significant other and family rights. 6. Demonstrating appropriate delegation of patient care activities and supervising assigned coworkers. 7. Demonstrating effective organization and priority setting utilizing sound critical thinking. 8. Ensuring compliance with organization policies and procedures. 9. Conducting oneself in a professional manner and ensuring personal appearance meets necessary standards. The individual will report to the Nursing Department Director, House Supervisor, Charge Nurse, and other designated supervisory staff on duty. This position works closely with patients, physicians, and other clinicians to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes. Physical requirements include frequent standing, walking, lifting, and manual dexterity. Emotional stability and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders are also essential for managing high-stress situations in patient care.
