The patient population ranges from pediatric to geriatric. The role requires the RN to manage a wide variety of complex medical cases. The position involves rotating shifts including day and mid shifts based on departmental needs. Every other weekend and holidays are required as scheduled. Floating to other locations within the emergency department specialty is mandatory. The nurse will assess and identify diverse patient needs, including acute psychosis, abdominal pain, respiratory infections, and multiple system organ dysfunction. They will perform various procedures such as intubation, central line management, and phlebotomy. The ability to manage psychiatric holds and care for suicidal patients is essential. Maintaining patient safety and adherence to isolation precautions is crucial. Applicants should have strong communication and critical thinking skills to excel in this position. Successful candidates will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care.
