Candidates must have a minimum of two years of emergency room and psychiatric emergency department experience. Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention). The nurse will handle a patient ratio of 1:4 and must be comfortable with managing various emergencies such as chest pain, abdominal pain, and cardiac arrest. Additional skills include crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques. The role requires proficiency in administering medications, including antianxiety, antidepressants, and antipsychotic medications. The nurse will be expected to utilize special equipment and understand procedures related to behavioral health.
