Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour; Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an emergency setting preferred License: Valid RN license is required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC Must-Have: Experience in a Level I or II Trauma Center is preferred. Charting experience with Epic is preferred. Description: This position requires the clinician to float between units as needed. The nurse will be required to work in ED holding. Weekends are typically required every other weekend. The expected patient-to-nurse ratio is 1 RN to 4 patients. This is a high acuity emergency department that serves a diverse population. Clinicians will care for adult patients and some pediatric patients aged 15 and up. Daily, the department sees approximately 175 visits and operates with 50 beds. Emergency nurses will handle a variety of serious medical conditions including trauma, cardiac, and stroke patients. This position includes responsibilities for triage, STEMI care, and trauma care to the operating room or ICU as needed. Nurses must be prepared to work with interdisciplinary support teams such as IV teams, physical therapy, and respiratory services. Successful candidates will demonstrate skills in continuous IV sedation, ICP monitoring, and interpretation of dysrhythmias. Candidates must provide references covering one year of experience within the last three years. Refusal to float between facilities may result in assignment termination.
