Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year in Emergency Room nursing required. License: Valid RN license required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC required. Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred. - Experience with patient ratios in a fast-paced environment. - Proficiency in Epic charting system. Description: The role requires a Registered Nurse specializing in Emergency Room care. The nurse will work night shifts on a 3x12-hour schedule. Weekends are required every other week. The expected patient ratio is 1:4. The facility is a short-term acute care center with a Level III trauma designation. Staffing support includes IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Lift Teams, Rapid Response Teams, and Pharmacy. Experience with varied patient age groups is essential, ranging from neonates to geriatrics. The nurse will be responsible for managing various urgent conditions including abdominal pain, acute psychosis, asthma, and severe trauma cases. Skills needed include central line care, chest tube management, care of ventilated patients, and the administration of emergency medications. The nurse will also be required to manage violent behavior and conduct triage as needed. Special patient care needs may include those requiring isolation precautions and management of mental health conditions.
