Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Nurse Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night-Shift Schedule Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum Years of Experience Required License: Active RN Licensure in WI Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC or TNS Must-Have: - Experience in an Emergency Room setting - Ability to work at multiple Emergency Department locations Description: We are looking for an experienced Emergency Room Nurse for this position. The candidate must possess active RN licensure in Wisconsin. Education verification is required. The candidate must be certified in BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and either TNCC or TNS. The position follows a night shift schedule. The responsibilities include utilizing the nursing process and collaborating with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients. The nurse will administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies, procedures, and standards of care. Documentation should meet the standards of care. The nurse will perform assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care. They will develop, initiate, and execute a patient plan of care based on individual patient needs, as prescribed by physicians or clinic policy. Patient and family instruction is an essential part of this process. Participation in departmental performance improvement activities is expected. This may include shared governance initiatives. The nurse will utilize clinical expertise to support the longitudinal plan of care for patients across various departments. Critical thinking regarding patient safety and patient experience is essential, and issues should be escalated through the appropriate channels. Participation in the professional nursing continuum process, unit practice activities, and peer review processes is important. Holiday coverage is required.
