Description:
Covid Vaccine required.
No exceptions will be made regarding vaccine declination forms.
All requested time off must be included with submission.
The unit has 48 beds.
Ratios are 1:6.
Charge nurse is not provided.
There are no nurse aides on staff.
Emergency Department Technology is present.
Weekend requirement is 3 shifts per month.
Holiday shifts are required every other holiday.
Scrub color: Ceil Blue top, black or Ceil Blue bottoms, and blue scrub jackets (no hoodies or sweaters).
Telehealth and vents are available.
Clientist or intensivist is in-house.
There is no IV team.
Respiratory Therapy is available 24/7 but does not respond to the emergency department.
Pharmacy services are available 24/7.
Shifts are from 7 PM to 7:30 AM.
Floating will only occur between emergency department care areas.
Floor specific orientation will consist of 2 clinical shifts.
Common diagnoses include chest pain, abdominal pain, stroke, STEMI, trauma, psychiatric emergencies, and sepsis.
This facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center with a 24-hour catheterization lab.
It is a designated Stroke Center and a teaching hospital with an emergency medicine residency training program.
All emergency medicine physicians are board-certified.
Cancellation policy states that travelers cannot voluntarily leave a shift or refuse a shift and receive guaranteed hours.
No guaranteed hours during orientation week, when the unit is closed, on holidays, or in weeks with requested time off.
Charting system utilized is Epic.
A BSN is not required for this position.
Trauma level is 2.
Care setting is acute.
Division is nursing.
Shift requirements include weekend and holiday availability.
Required certifications are ACLS, BLS, and CPI.
