Description:
This position is for a registered nurse in the emergency department.
The emergency department has 101 beds and a typical patient ratio of 4:1, which can increase to 7:1 for behavioral health holds.
The staff includes techs who work in cardiac monitoring and internal processing areas, as well as unit clerks for day and night shifts.
The department utilizes Baxter pumps and GE monitors with a documentation system in place.
Scheduling requires working every other weekend, with no block scheduling commitments and needs reflecting departmental requirements.
Floating within the emergency department is required, but there is no floating to units outside the emergency department.
Patient experience protocols include AIDET, respectful behavior, and ensuring that boards are updated with patient information throughout their visit.
Advanced skills are preferred, including experience in a high volume emergency department with 100,000 visits per year.
