Registered Nurse - ER/MedSurg

Location: Turtle Lake, ND

Start Date: 05-04-2026

End Date: 08-03-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM (nights), rotating schedule with every-other-weekend and alternating holidays

Hours per Week: 36

 

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care across ER, MedSurg and swing-bed units
  • Triage and deliver initial emergency and trauma care in the ER when needed
  • Administer IV medications, blood products and titratable drips safely and accurately
  • Read and interpret telemetry strips and act promptly on abnormal findings
  • Collaborate with CNAs, RTs and the charge nurse within a team nursing model
  • Document thoroughly and efficiently in EPIC to ensure continuity of care
  • Support geriatric care needs including dementia, wound care and restorative rehab
  • Participate in unit orientation and ongoing competency maintenance
Knowledge & Skills
  • EPIC charting and documentation
  • IV medication administration and IV antibiotic management
  • Blood transfusion procedures and safety checks
  • Titration of drips (electrolytes, hypertensives, set-rate drips)
  • Telemetry strip interpretation and cardiac monitoring
  • Geriatric care, dementia awareness, and stroke care basics
  • Wound care principles and restorative/rehab-focused nursing
  • CPAP troubleshooting and collaboration with respiratory therapy
