Shift Type: 12-hour night shifts, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM (nights), rotating schedule with every-other-weekend and alternating holidays
Hours per Week: 36
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care across ER, MedSurg and swing-bed units
- Triage and deliver initial emergency and trauma care in the ER when needed
- Administer IV medications, blood products and titratable drips safely and accurately
- Read and interpret telemetry strips and act promptly on abnormal findings
- Collaborate with CNAs, RTs and the charge nurse within a team nursing model
- Document thoroughly and efficiently in EPIC to ensure continuity of care
- Support geriatric care needs including dementia, wound care and restorative rehab
- Participate in unit orientation and ongoing competency maintenance
Knowledge & Skills
- EPIC charting and documentation
- IV medication administration and IV antibiotic management
- Blood transfusion procedures and safety checks
- Titration of drips (electrolytes, hypertensives, set-rate drips)
- Telemetry strip interpretation and cardiac monitoring
- Geriatric care, dementia awareness, and stroke care basics
- Wound care principles and restorative/rehab-focused nursing
- CPAP troubleshooting and collaboration with respiratory therapy
