Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 17 Weeks Shift: 12-Hour Evenings Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: License required for submission Certifications: - BLS - ACLS - PALS - TNCC - ASLS or NIHSS - CPI Must-Have: - 5+ years of experience - At least 1 travel assignment - Meditech experience - TNCC certification Description: Candidates must adhere to a 75-mile radius rule. The driver's license address must be included in the submission. All travelers must have certification in TNCC and experience in handling psych/seclusion rooms. The facility has a 6-bed behavioral lockdown area that is staffed by psychiatric professionals. The emergency department sees approximately 180-200 patient visits per day. Ratios for nursing care are 1 to 4. The electronic medical record system is Meditech 6.15. Charge nurses and nurse aides/paramedics are available, with 5-6 staff on each shift. Dedicated security and patient sitters are present to ensure safety in the emergency room. Patients who require ventilation will be held in the ER until they are admitted. There are 24/7 respiratory therapists who manage respiratory needs. Pharmaceutical services are available in-house 24/7. Floor-specific orientation spans 2 shifts. Common diagnoses include pediatric to geriatric cases, trauma, and neuro cases. Some trauma cases are kept on-site while others are shipped out. The facility is a designated CVA center and does not admit burn patients. The expectation is to complete orientation within the first week unless prior approval is granted. Caribbean blue scrubs are the required uniform color. The cancellation policy stipulates 12 hours every 2 weeks.
