Job Title: RN - Emergency Room Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 5 PM - 5 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC required; NRP highly preferred Must-Have: ER and Med Surg experience listed on work history Description: Critical Care Access facility. Will be required to work all patient units, including Med Surg and ER. Nights shift available: 5 PM to 5 AM, 36 hours per week. Required rotation for weekends: every third weekend. BLS and ACLS certifications must be through the American Heart Association. Must have certifications at the time of submission or have a class scheduled prior to submission. Any color scrubs are acceptable. The average inpatient census is 3 patients, but it can increase to 7-8 patients at times. Staffing typically includes 3 nurses and 1 CNA on each shift. There are instances when there may be 2 nurses and 1 aide on a shift. The second or third nurse may be an LPN, creating scenarios with both RNs and LPNs on shift. Staff divide the inpatient load among themselves. One nurse may take only 1 inpatient if they are more experienced in the ER but usually, ER patients are shared among the team. There is always a crisis nurse on call every night for support. Electronic medical records system used is Cerner. Flu declination is allowed, but wearing a mask during flu season is required. Specific interview availability must be provided for scheduling interviews.
