Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Services Duration: 10 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: MI License required in hand Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH, PALS, TNCC Must-Have: Must have a teamwork approach and meet behavioral expectations. Must be able to adhere to the call-off policy, which is strongly enforced. No locals accepted, 50-mile radius rule applies. Pending licenses are not accepted. Description: The registered nurse will float as needed. Patient age groups include infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The nurse will be responsible for managing patient ratios of 1:4. Weekend coverage is required, every other weekend. The position is located within a general emergency department. The facility is a certified STEMI and stroke center. Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, management of dysrhythmias, and IV therapy. The nurse will provide medication administration, including continuous sedation and vasopressors. Skills required include triage, isolation precautions, and interpretation of dysrhythmias. Experience with computerized charting is necessary. The facility uses a specific charting system. Previous experience in a Level II trauma center is preferred. Teaching hospital experience is also preferred. The daily census includes an average of 104 visits, within a staffed setting of 31 beds. Interdisciplinary support includes various specialized teams. Floating to other units may be required as part of the job expectation. The mix of patient diagnoses will vary. Candidates should be prepared for a fast-paced environment with a focus on teamwork.
