Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active Registered Nurse license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC required Must-Have: ER and Trauma experience required Description: Registered Nurse with experience in the emergency room required. Candidates with a minimum of 2 years of experience will be considered. Must have current certifications including BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC. Position involves working night shifts on a schedule of 3 days per week. Weekend shifts required every other weekend. General emergency department skills required include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Experience in managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure is needed. Ability to obtain a 12 lead EKG and blood product administration is essential. Proficiency in central line care and starting IVs required. Skills needed in phlebotomy and administration of emergency medications. Experience in administering IV vasopressors is necessary. Candidates should be knowledgeable in procedural sedation administration. Experience with neuro-trauma, spinal cord injuries, and traumatic brain injuries is required. Applicants should be able to manage and apply splints. Understanding of various conditions such as abdominal pain, asthma, burns, and infections is important. Experience with mental/behavioral health conditions and managing violent behavior required. Candidates should be competent in performing chest tube insertion and managing patients on CPAP/BiPAP. Ability to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) is necessary. Knowledge of triage and isolating precautions is essential for this role. Floating to other departments may be required based on facility needs. No on-call requirements for this position. Candidates must be compliant with all facility guidelines and complete necessary pre-start modules. This position is open to both locals and travelers with necessary documentation. RTO restrictions may apply. Must be willing to work as a team member in a fast-paced environment. The position may require additional duties depending on evolving patient needs.
