Job Title: Emergency Room RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ER Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS Must-Have: - Completed at least one travel assignment - General Emergency Department experience (Combined Adult/Pediatric) - Experience with Cerner charting system - Weekend coverage required (Every other weekend; 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule) Description: This position is for an Emergency Room Registered Nurse in a fast-paced environment. The nurse will provide care to patients of all ages, including neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. A patient ratio of 1:4-6 is expected. The nurse will be responsible for a variety of clinical skills, including blood product administration and care of ventilated patients. Experience with trauma level I and II is preferred, along with familiarity in managing acute psychosis and drug overdoses. The nurse will utilize critical thinking skills and quick decision-making in emergency situations. Managing mental and behavioral health conditions will also be a part of the role. Weekend coverage requires working every other weekend, specifically Friday and Saturday nights. All candidates must hold current certifications in ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills. Compliance with all safety precautions and the ability to work effectively in a team are essential. The position requires a thorough understanding of emergency care procedures and protocols. The candidate must complete orientation and training modules as required. All nurses will need to pass an exam on EKG rhythm interpretation prior to clearance.
