The nurse will encounter a heavy patient load, including strokes, cardiovascular issues, diabetes, wounds, behavioral health, and sepsis cases. Some trauma cases will also be managed. Security is available onsite at all times. The nurse will independently provide both routine and complex care. Demonstrating awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care is essential. The nurse will utilize the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addressing the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families is a key responsibility. The role involves administering medications and treatments according to protocol. Monitoring for side effects and effectiveness of treatments is required. Documenting patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided is necessary. Assessing learning needs and providing education to patients and caregivers is expected. The position requires participation in competency validation and annual competency verification. Completion of all required competencies and responsibilities in a timely manner is essential.
