Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required in an emergency department setting License: Active SC license or multistate license required Certifications: - Required: ACLS, BLS, CPI/MAB, NIHSS, PALS - Preferred: TNCC, ENPC, NR Description: Shift: 3x12 Nights from 19:00 to 07:30. Floating is required depending on the need. Floating may occur within the hospital or to nearby facilities. Weekend coverage is every other weekend but may change based on need. Patient ratios are 4 patients per nurse for days, nights, and weekends. The daily census may involve managing around 110 visits per day. Patient age groups encompass neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The role includes managing abdominal pain, acute psychosis, and arterial line management. Skills in BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, and care of ventilated patients are essential. Central line care and management, chest tube insertion, and ongoing IV sedation are required practices. Candidates must be adept in managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure and understanding mental and behavioral health conditions. Triage and emergency procedures, as well as obtaining EKG readings, are included in the responsibilities. Supporting care includes interpreting dysrhythmias and adhering to isolation precautions. Required skills also include managing violent behavior and suicidal patients. Documentation and familiarity with relevant charting systems are critical elements of the position. Interpretation services and interdisciplinary support from physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services are available as needed.
