Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years, 3+ years of Level 1 trauma center experience for first-time travelers License: RN Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC Must-Have: Ability to provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process. Competence in delivering safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Strong skills in clinical decision-making and evidence-based practice. Effective communication and compassion in patient interactions. Description: The Registered Nurse will play a pivotal role in the Emergency Department. This is a fast-paced unit that manages a wide range of patient types and diagnoses. Common cases include trauma, stroke, cardiovascular issues, and various medical emergencies. Patient ratios will depend on the clinical area and patient acuity, ranging from 3:1 to 6:1 for RNs. Support staff includes ED Technicians, a Unit Secretary, and nurses specialized in critical care. Staff will have access to technology including electronic medical records and specialized equipment. The unit operates 24/7 with additional support from pharmacists, hospitalists, and intensivists. Travelers should expect weekends and holidays in their schedule. This role requires a commitment to creating the safest patient environment and best patient experience. The successful candidate will contribute to a collaborative and dynamic healthcare team. Scrub color is designated as royal blue.
