License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC Must-Have: - Proven experience in a fast-paced emergency department setting. - Strong clinical decision-making skills and the ability to provide compassionate patient care. - Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. Description: The Emergency Department provides a fast-paced environment catering to a diverse patient population. This unit is currently undergoing renovations, with the second of three phases completed. The department will receive many air flights following renovations, supported by fixed-wing helicopter pads. As a Registered Nurse in this setting, you will play a crucial role in coordinating comprehensive patient care. Your responsibilities will encompass delivering safe, therapeutic care in alignment with established standards and procedures. You will utilize evidence-based practices, effective communication, and clinical decision-making in this role. The unit manages a variety of high-acuity cases, including trauma, stroke, STEMI, and burn patients. You will encounter patients with conditions such as multi-trauma, cardiac events, overdoses, and respiratory distress. Patient ratios will vary based on clinical area and acuity levels, typically ranging from 3:1 to 6:1. Support staff will include emergency department technicians, unit secretaries, charge nurses, and critical care pharmacists. Your role will involve using various technology and equipment, including electronic medical records and monitoring devices. There is a floating expectation to the transition care unit as needed. Weekend rotation is required every other weekend with no on-call duties. Holiday work expectations are set at 75% of holidays.
