Must-Have:
Traveler will be required to PASS an EKG competency exam as part of compliance prior to arrival.
Skills required include NGT tube insertion, IV starts, chest tube management, defibrillation, and splinting.
Experience with Stroke/NIHSS and ICU gtt management is required.
Description:
The Emergency Room has 22 beds, plus a 7-bed fast track area.
The unit serves a diverse patient population, from pediatrics to geriatrics.
Common patient conditions include cardiac issues, diabetes, renal failure, cancer, and multiple system trauma.
The patient ratios are typically RN: 1:3-4 with support from ED Techs.
The team includes a charge nurse, unit clerk, phlebotomy, and an available PICC team.
Emergency Department physicians and mid-level providers are present on each shift.
The unit utilizes an electronic medical record system for charting.
Weekends will be scheduled every other weekend.
Shifts may alternate between working four days one week and three days the next.
Holidays will require working 2 out of 3 major holidays.
