Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience required License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI required; TNCC preferred Must-Have: 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI Description: We are seeking a motivated and skilled Emergency Department Registered Nurse. The position is located in a facility with 109 licensed beds and does not have a trauma designation. It is not a teaching hospital and does not host residents or students. The facility is an Advanced Primary Stroke Center. The unit has 16 beds and maintains a patient ratio of 1:4-5 based on acuity. Patient types and common diagnoses include pediatric and adult cases such as COPD, CHF, chest pain, myocardial infarction, N-STEMI, stroke, TIA, new onset cardiac arrhythmia, uncontrolled diabetes, and minor trauma. The ideal candidate will possess a general ED skill set, including cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with critical care drips, ventilator management, chest tube placement, PIV starts, TNK/TPA administration, and conscious sedation. Candidates should also be able to perform ESI assessments. Support within the department includes CNAs, charge nurses, and a dedicated physician team available 24/7. The role may require floating to different regions and facilities as needed, within the scope of practice. Weekend rotation will be every other weekend, and travelers will be expected to work 75% of holidays. Requests for time off may be approved up to 6 days, excluding holidays.
