  Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department (ED) Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to provide care for pediatric through geriatric patients in a fast-paced emergency setting. The ideal candidate has strong emergency nursing experience, excellent critical thinking skills, and the ability to manage a wide range of acute and emergent conditions.

Requirements
  • Active RN license
  • Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience
  • First-time travelers not accepted
  • Certifications Required:
    • BLS
    • ACLS
    • PALS
    • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
    • CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
  • Preferred Certification:
    • TNCC
Clinical Experience
  • Cardiac rhythm interpretation
  • Critical care medication/drip management
  • Peripheral IV (PIV) insertion
  • TNK/tPA administration
  • Conscious sedation
  • Care of patients with medical, surgical, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, behavioral health, and minor trauma emergencies
Patient Population
  • Pediatric through geriatric patients
  • General Emergency Department population
  • Common presentations include:
    • Respiratory illness
    • Stroke
    • Acute myocardial infarction
    • Behavioral health emergencies
    • Uncontrolled diabetes
    • Minor trauma
    • Other acute medical emergencies
Staffing
  • RN-to-patient ratio: 1:3–4, based on patient acuity
  • Multidisciplinary support includes:
    • Charge Nurse
    • Patient Care Technicians/Unit Coordinators
    • Paramedics
    • Respiratory Therapists
    • Pharmacists
    • Social Workers
    • Emergency Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers
