Description:
This is a backfill position for a travel RN in the Emergency Room.
The shift is from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
The unit has 39 beds with a patient ratio of 1:4.
There is one unit secretary and 2-3 techs available on the floor.
Typical equipment includes crash carts, Level One equipment, Alaris pumps, and bedside cardiac monitors.
The documentation system utilized is MediTech.
The scheduling is done on a 4-week basis with schedules posted 2 weeks prior to the start date.
Floating to an ER hold unit may occur when the unit is at capacity.
Patient experience expectations include patient rounding every 30 minutes to 1 hour and bedside shift reports.
The unit requires certifications in ACLS, BLS, and PALS.
Dress code requires black scrubs.
Advanced procedures performed on the unit include chest tubes, moderate sedation, lumbar punctures, laceration repair, and blood product administration.
